CnTI™ (Contrast Tuned Imaging) is Esaote’s advanced technology for Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS) Imaging. Based on low mechanical index and real-time scanning, CnTI™ is an ideal way to use second generation contrast media. CnTI™ Data can be fused with MRI, CT, PET, 3D Ultrasound and/or 3D CEUS volumes.
Real-time B-Mode scanning fusion with CnTI™ Volume enables constant CEUS anatomical references during interventional procedures.
Elastosonography technology allows the user to perform an elastosonographic analysis of the tissue, providing information about the tissue’s elasticity by associating different chromatic patterns to the different tissue elasticity responses. ElaXto in urology applications is available with endocavity and bi-plane transducers for prostate and a wide range of linear transducers for testes.

Biopsy/Ablation kits and Virtual Biopsy
Esaote offers a wide range of dedicated transducers and kits: clinical examinations and biopsy operations can be comfortably performed with the right tool and without any waste of time.
For each probe, dedicated biopsy and ablation kits are available, with the possibility of tracking the biopsy needle in the 3D space or any other external device.
Virtual Biopsy combined with Intelligent Positioning increases confidence during ultrasound real-time biopsy procedures, thanks to virtual tracking of the needle – helping users to reach the target quickly, precisely and safely. The physical needle is highlighted by a virtual needle on the real-time ultrasound image with complete 3D representation of the probe, scanning plane and pathway to the target.
Colored targets can be visualized and the needle will become a gunshot viewfinder.
Fusion Imaging in Urology
In the field of minimally invasive techniques, the need for technological improvements has been increasing dramatically in past few years.
One of the most interesting and promising techniques is the TRUS-MRI navigation system for prostate biopsy thanks to the fact that different imaging modalities could be fused with intrinsic, real-time modalities, such as U.S., to enhance localization capabilities.
Virtual Navigator is Esaote’s revolutionary technology for fusion Imaging that allows CT, MR and PET side by side with real-time ultrasound. Virtual Navigator takes all the advantages of different modalities and provides a real-time, low-cost and radiation-free solution that aims to guide operators in diagnosis, everyday clinical practice, interventional procedures, research and teaching. A dedicated environment has been developed to assist users during cryotherapy, radiofrequency, microwaves and laser ablations offering manual delineation of lesion margins and computed calculation of lesion volume, definition of expected necrotic ellipse and needle tracking capability for several brands of needles.
Stepper grid for prostate procedures: planning and guiding
Esaote offers the possibility of performing advanced procedures such as brachytherapy and thermal ablation with a trans-perineal approach, making use of the biplane probe TRT33 and Classic Stepper by CIVCO. A biopsy grid visualization will guide the operator to ensure accurate positioning for prostate cancer detection, targeting, and treatment. In combination with real-time Esaote Fusion Imaging, a dedicated environment has been developed to assist users during cryotherapy, radiofrequency, microwave, and laser ablations.
