Esaote partner with AMD to improve resolution and graphic capabilities of its new ultrasound systems

Andrej Dvorak, Chief Technology Officer of Esaote, who took part to the Press Conference organized by AMD in London in February 2018 for the launch of a new range of embedded processors, announces Esaote partnership with AMD and describes the benefits of developing the Esaote new ultrasound system based on Ryzen Embedded V1000 processor.

“Esaote is a leading manufacturer of medical diagnostic systems and takes great pride in innovating to produce technologies that help with faster clinical decision making and accurate diagnosis for patients. In order for us to achieve this, it is critical that we create the right partnerships with technology providers that share our innovation and enable us” said Andrej Dvorak.

As one of the top players in the world in diagnostic ultrasound systems Esaote strives to pioneer achievements in this space; to his aim Esaote will be integrating the AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 processor into its next generation Ultrasound system which will be launched in the 2nd half of the year.

AMD’s innovation around the Zen and Vega architectures and bringing them into the Embedded space will be helpful to further differentiate Esaote’s products.

“The ability to leverage the level of CPU performance that Zen brings, along with discrete class Graphics in a single low power device” continues Andrej “enables us to integrate the compute functionality into a single processor offering smaller more power efficient systems whilst still providing customers with incredibly sharp diagnostic image clarity. This means we are able to provide ultrasound systems with the performance of typically much larger machines in smaller form factors and with improved TCO for our customers and a better experience for patients”.

This new partnership will allow Esaote to provide doctors and technicians with much higher resolution and graphics capabilities to rely on to make critical healthcare decisions.
